Why Using Kang the Conqueror as the villain in Phase 4 of The Marvel Cinematic Universe means reboot!

Kang the Conqueror is a fictional supervillain that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. In 2009, Kang was ranked as IGN’s 65th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has just made a new update to there slate of films. I believe though that after Phase 3 is up that Marvel will reboot the entire cinematic Universe. What better way to do that then to use a time travel villain like Kang the Conqueror. Marvel has extended it Phase 3 film into the year 2020. With dates on May 1st,July 10th and November 6th. One of these films will be the last film in Phase 3 and the last of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. It also could be the beginning of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well. What a better way to end the MCU then an all out brawl with Thanos. The Time Gem could come into play here. That’s how everything gets rebooted.

With the recent news that Bryan Cranston has expressed interest in playing a Marvel bad guy a really evil bad guy. It came to me that maybe he could play Kang The Conqueror in a late Phase 3 film or an early Phase 4 film. Using the time element that Thanos has in the Infinity Gems could create an alternate reality and bam you have a new Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kang has been one of the Avengers big bad guys over the years. This would fit the bill imo if you were Bryan Cranston. He would be the new big bad guy in the MCU and Marvel could reboot and all is happy.

Marvel has pushed back its Phase 3 films so they can plan something big for 2020. This would be a perfect way to end Phase 3 and start Phase 4 or End Phase 3 all together. Whatever happens we have a long way to go before anything is settled. I myself look for ward to what Marvel/Disney have in store for all of us fans. I think Bryan Cranston and Kang would both fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point Only Time will tell.

Why Marvel/Disney could do the Infinity story-line from the comics.

Marvel was bought by Disney a few years ago. Since then they have been trying to, and succeeded in setting up a cinematic universe. With the success of Iron Man/Robert Downey Jr. this process was started. In the end credits there was a scene where Nick Fury/Samuel L. Jackson is in Tony Stark’s/Iron Man house and he says we need to talk about the Avengers initiative. From there the whole idea for a shared cinematic universe started. Marvel/Disney hired a man to oversee this cinematic universe and his name was Kevin Fiege. Kevin Fiege set out to make multiple Marvel movies. First there was The Hulk/Edward Norten and then there was Thor/Chris Hemsworth, then there was Captain America/Chris Evans. Within the films of Thor and Captain America we were introduced to other two other characters The Black Widow/Scarlet Johansson and Hawkeye/Jeremy Renner. All these movies would culminate in an Avengers movie. This would be known as phase one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Phase two would be announced at the San-Diego Comic-Con in  2012. After phase one was complete and was a huge success Kevin Fiege would start work on phase two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With sequels of Iron Man, Thor and Captain America phase two would be off and running. Fiege would add a different group to the mix with the introduction of The Guardians of the Galaxy out in August 2014. Then the sequel to the Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Adding two more Avengers, Joss Whedon broke the news that a brother sister duo will be introduced in Avenger 2: The Age of Ultron,. Quicksilver/Aaron Taylor-Johnson and The Scarlet Witch/Elizabeth Olson. Knowing how smart the comic book fans were Fiege decided to add a popular character who plays prominently in the creation of Ultron/James Spader to the Cinematic Universe. That character is Ant-man/Paul Rudd. The Ant-man movie wouldn’t come before Avengers 2 though. It would be the beginning of phase three.

Phase three has pretty much been announced even though there hasn’t been an official announcement yet. Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron would lead into phase three which starts off with Ant-Man. The films announced so far for phase three besides Ant-Man are Captain America 3, Thor 3, Avengers 3 and a rumored Doctor Strange movie. The Falcon/Anthony Mackie has been introduced in Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. So the tally of characters introduced so far into the Marvel Cinematic Universe are Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye, The Falcon, Ant-man,Quicksilver, The Scarlett Witch and The Guardians of the Galaxy. Tentatively Doctor Strange, who was spoken of in Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. So if my total is right we would have fifteen characters. With The Black Panther,The Wasp, and The Inhumans looming in the near future and Marvel/Disney probably getting the rights back for Namor The Sub Mariner from Universal Pictures. This would make twenty five characters they already have in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Using these twenty five characters and some of the great villains and aliens races already alluded to Marvel/Disney could do The Illuminati. A group of elders or leaders of all the super heroes in the universe. They could go into space with the technology we have seen so far in the movies. In the story-line more characters like Ms. Marvel could appear. This story is a great Marvel story and its a lot newer then the Infinity Gantlet story. With all the established characters you wouldn’t need the X-Men or Fantastic Four or even Spider-Man. This is a far reaching story and Marvel/Disney could use all kinds of special effects to bring this awesome story-line  to the big screen and all the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Phase 2 and beyond! What we know so far!

Marvel/Disney has done a great job crafting a cinematic universe so far. We have had three Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) movies to date. One of which has co-starred The Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

The Hulk has had two movies as well but, the only one attached to the Marvel cinematic Universe is the Edward Norten one. The Hulk/Bruce Banner is played by(Mark Ruffalo) in The Avengers. A regular character in all the Marvel movies is Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). He’s the glue that fits this universe together.

There have also been two Thor (Chris Hemsworth) movies. Where the main villain in the first and evil brother of Thor, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has reeked havoc on earth. He has also been the first villain The Avengers (Iron Man,Thor,Captain America,The Hulk,Black Widow,Hawkeye) have faced off against as well.

There has been one Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) movies but, we have another one on the way. Captain America: The Winter Soldier co-stars once again The Black Widow and Nick Fury but, we have a new character who is introduced in this movie. That character is The Falcon (Anthony Mackie). Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes out April 4th 2014. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) has made a cameo in the first Thor movie and co-stared in The Avenger’s movie.

Now to the part that’s not so clear the next to last film in phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is The Guardians of the Galaxy. It comes out August 1st 2014 The Guardians team consists of Star Lord (Chris Pratt) Gamora (Zoe Saldona) Drax the Destroyer (David Batista) Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel). The villains in The Guardians movie are The Collector (Benicio Del-Toro) and Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace)

The Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out May 1st 2015. This is the story of one of Iron Man’s armor’s that gets corrupted and gets a mind of its own. When the armor starts to think for itself it deems the human race as inferior. It start to try and destroy the human race and have robots/computers take over. Ultron (voiced by James Spader) is the main villain in Avenger’s 2 but there is a secondary called Baron Von Strucker. There are three new Avengers in A2 Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) Quicksilver (Aron Taylor-Johnson) and The Vision (Paul Bettnany). Kevin Feige the Producer of Marvel has stated that Black Widow and Hawkeye are gonna play a bigger roles in A2. The Director Joss Whedon has begun filming  A2 in Johannesburg, South Africa already.

The first movie in Phase 3 of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is Ant-Man/Scott Lang (Paul Rudd). We all know Ant-Man was created by Hank Pym (Micheal Douglas) will portray the scientist. Ant-Man has a love interest and reports are that (Jennifer Connelly) will play Janet Van Dyne/The Wasp. Ant-Man is about to begin filming soon and is directed by Edger Wright. It will be out in August 2015.

After Ant-Man Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is a little sketchy. We know for sure there will be an Avengers 3, Thor 3 and Captain America 3. Rumors have been flying that the last film in Phase 3 will be a Doctor Strange film but also there has been a lot of buzz around a Black Panther movie as well. Either Doctor Strange or Black Panther would add a different element to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All I can say is this with all the anticipation revolving around Disney/Marvel there are sure to be a lot of surprises to come. I would definitely love to see The Red Scull (Hugo Weaving) return and The Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos as the main story line in Avenger 3. All we can do is wait with abated breath and hope for the best. I leave you with this. Kevin Feige has showed me a lot of great things so far in Phase 1 and 2 so, I have faith in him to do justice by these characters I grew up reading about as a teenager.
